A flippant and pointless blog, but I don't know what else to say after what happened to Japan yesterday.
日本人 , あなたのことを思って
If that shows up as boxes or question marks you're probably reading this on your Iphone or an earlier version of Internet Explorer.
It's Kanji & Hiragana and it says "Japanese people, you are in my thoughts"

I feel the same - its an awful time and getting worse. Did a red cross donation earlier today, and have been checking Junkaholique's blog about her husband's family.
It's hard to think about anything else at the moment eh.
I've only been to Japan twice, but I speak the language and have Japanese friends on Twitter. I feel a real connection with the place and I just feel constantly sick about it.
Good stuff re the donation.
I'll check out that blog.
Thanks
Just wish there was more I could do, but from looking at all the separate volunteer teams who are going/are ready to go out there, red cross donations seem perhaps the best direct way.
Looks like the immediate need is for bottled water, shelter, generators - to get hospitals working, keep people warm, give them a way of charging mobiles to contact relatives... it'll be a case of keeping the survivors physically and psychologically sound. And then the nuclear fears... its all beyond incredible.
I'd love to think that the multi-millionnaires/rock stars/bankers-with-bonuses of the world are all digging deep and donating too.
